Happy New School year! The arrival of fall is always exciting. I am anticipating another rewarding year meeting parents, teachers, students, and revisiting friends.
Last year, when I wasn’t visiting schools, I had adventures in Spain, the Canary Islands, and several national parks in the United States. Here are a few photos:
Is this a ghost in the Alhambra Palace in Granada?Montana Blanca, on the Canary Island of Tenerife, was an awe-inspiring place. We met this Barbary Macaque on the Rock of Gibraltar. This is before it snatched our son’s lunch. Here’s one hitching a ride down the rock. This is Chimney Rock on Nebraska’s Oregon Trail. I tried growing these sunflowers in our yard, but someone ate them! :- <My! What big claws you have!
I am the author of 46 children's books and a Science journalist for Scholastic. I also work as a consultant giving Writing and Science programs at schools and libraries.
Thank you for visiting the Greenwood School today! My son, Sean, enjoyed your visit and we have been hearing all about squid and sea monsters this evening! (Sean was the one holding the dragon when you entered his classroom!) You really turned him on to the writing process! Thank you so much…now time to read about sea monsters!
Dear Elizabeth, thank you for taking time to write your lovely note! It means a lot to me. I’m glad that Sean had fun, but is also excited about reading and writing. I’d love to read some of HIS “Exciting Writing.” Send it any time. Meanwhile . . . hope you have fun snuggling up together with Sea Monsters. :->
