Autumn News and Notes

Thank you parents and teachers, who have invited me to present school programs. I am honored to be a part of your nonfiction and writing curriculum.

This fall my family and I traveled to some lovely spots, including the Cape Cod National Seashore. As Massachusetts residents, we are fortunate to live near this intriguing place, which is beautiful any time of year. Here are a few photos from our trips:

We found this Fowler’s Toad leaning on the beach grass.

A frolicking humpback greets whale watchers.

Want proof that whales are mammals and not fish? Here is the blowhole through which it breathes air.

How does this horseshoe crab keep track of its ten legs? That bump on the top of the shell is its right eye!

Doesn’t this Painted Turtle look snooty, as it points its nose toward the sun?

Author School Visits 2012-13

Happy New School year! The arrival of fall is always exciting. I am anticipating another rewarding year meeting parents, teachers, students, and revisiting friends.
